Kindergarten Lessons with Real World Application

Sharing is Good: Classworks/NComputing Partnership extends individualized learning for students, without extending district pocketbooks

Educators are in the middle of a seemingly unsolvable equation: how to meet the needs of 30 different students simultaneously without spending all of their money on hardware before they even have a chance to choose the right instructional software.  Classworks is recognized as one of the only proven methods to truly help individualize instruction for students simultaneously.  At the same time, PC prices have leveled off and taxpayers want to pay less to fund education.

Until solutions like NComputing appeared there was no cost effective way to lower the student to computer ratio for schools. Today, NComputing’s innovative solutions have made this a reality in more than 600,000 classrooms across the globe.

How does NComputing Work?
Up to seven students can simultaneously use the excess power of a basic PC with the NComputing X300. Each student has their own keyboard, screen, settings, applications, and data files—just as if they were working at an independent machine, with exactly the right instruction to meet their needs. That means that a 35-seat PC lab can be created using only 5 shared PCs and 30 NComputing X300 virtual PCs.

Becoming Partners
NComputing approached Classworks six months ago because they were discovering our solutions are used in so many districts where NComputing is also being implemented.  Together, the two companies began a joint development effort ensuring that each customer using both companies’ products, X300 and Classworks, would enjoy the highest level of performance and support.

Classworks is committed to offering you increasingly diverse and cutting edge ways to utilize our program with your students and we believe partnering with NComputing is a phenomenal way to accomplish that goal. One of the first concerns a school has is how to ensure that students are getting adequate instructional time with Classworks, and the key to this is student access.  We believe the Classworks and NComputing partnership is one step closer to helping schools achieve one to one computing in every classroom.

On April 18th Classworks formally launched the latest version of Classworks which includes full NComputing compatibility.  Customers can access this by downloading the latest Classworks update to their servers.
