Classworks Service Release 181

Today Curriculum Advantage, Inc. released the Classworks Service Release 181. The main emphasis in this service release is to provide added performance and stability to the Classworks core technologies with an addition of a new powerful workstation administration tool called the Classworks Automatic Update Service.

This service release also requires an update to the Classworks workstations. Using the tools available, IT professionals can update your workstations using an auto deployment tool such as Microsoft Group Policy or Novell Zenworks with added assistance from the Classworks Automatic Update Service. Classworks Automatic Update Service
 
To keep your Classworks workstation up to date with the latest updates, you once had to go online and download the updates for your installation. No more. Classworks includes a built-in service called Classworks Automatic Update Service (CAUS). CAUS provides new features that may enhance your Classworks experience. With CAUS, you can easily get:

  • The latest fixes from Classworks
  • Updates that improve reliability and performance
  • Upgrades to Classworks features as they become available

CAUS can be setup to automatically download and install Classworks updates. This is the simplest way to make sure your workstations stay up to date - just set it up and forget it. 
 
CAUS uses Microsoft Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) to prioritize, throttle, and asynchronously transfer Classworks files between machines using idle network bandwidth. To learn more about Microsoft BITS go to:
